The III International Forum
CRITEOS is increasingly recognized as a meeting
point to scholars and business community or administrators
of public services interested in work, health
and effectiveness topics.
The theme for this Forum is “New
Challenges in work, health and effectiveness research”
and it is our purpose to create a forum for critical
reflection about work, health and effectiveness,
and the key role of quality of live and organizational
competitiveness.
The last two Forum Criteos were
the beginning of a project of research on work,
health and effectiveness, that aimed to develop
knowledge and research about a topic that is nowadays
transdiciplinary and global. The quality of life
and the happiness at work are the main issues
to understand and research. To know the impact
on these issues of the way the work is done is
a challenge that concerns several disciplines
like psychology, sociology, medicine, ergonomics,
and law, among others.
Today, the multiculturalism, the
globalization, the technology development and
the pressure for productivity and competitiveness,
give to these issues a complexity, whose understanding
and management requires researchers to work on
network and with an international and pluridisciplinary
perspective.
So, the main objectives of the Forum CRITEOS 2006
are:
1) to describe the state of
the art on work and its impacts on the effectiveness
of organizations and the health of their workers;
2) to debate questions about occupational health,
under its different aspects, with people from the
business community and public services;
3) to analyze the implications of multiculturalism
and globalization on management workers;
4) to stimulate knowledge transfer and applications
in various work settings;
5) to strengthen the network of the International
Researchers who work on different aspects of occupational
health, effectiveness and safety.
A stimulating scientific program
will make this Forum CRITEOS an opportunity to
accomplish these goals, by allowing participants
to discuss and share their experiences, thoughts
and ideas on work as a pleasant activity.
