Arrival
Lisbon can be reached by air, rail and road. The International Airport is located inside the city. Bus and taxi services to and from airport provide easy access to the city center and in hotels.

Taxi
Taxi is a convenient way to go from the airport to the Hotel. A ride from the airport to the hotels should be approximately €7-€10. They can charge you an extra €1.50 for luggage in the trunk. The total should not exceed 12 Euros (slightly higher if late at night). You are expected to take no more than 15 minutes (without traffic).

Taxi Voucher
If you want to take a taxi, but avoid the possibility of being overcharged by the taxi driver, then you can also use the “Taxi Voucher” service. With this service, you can buy a voucher at a booth (Turismo de Lisboa) located in the airport lobby just outside the arrivals gate. The person at this booth will go with you and pay the taxi driver. The service is about €14 flat fee for a ride from the airport to any part of central Lisbon. This is higher than the normal taxi fare, but lower than some cases of overcharging by the taxi driver.

Aero-Bus

Note that traveling expenses are not covered by de Forum.

CITY OF LISBON

Lisbon, the most visited city in Portugal, has enough sights and facilities in and around the capital to make it your favorite tourist destination. Lisbon has many highlights, most within walking distance from the city center.
Alfama district, one of the most colorful neighborhoods in Portugal, sits on a hilltop overlooking the lower part of Lisbon, known as the Baixa. Filled with old homes huddled in a maze of twisty alleyways, it is best explore on foot.
The uphill trek to Castle of São Jorge is rewarded with a spectacular view from the top. The red-tiled roofs of the city below can be seen all the way down to the River Tagus.
You must not miss Chiado, an old but renewed district well known by its coffees, fancy shops and libraries. Right next you can move to Bairro Alto where the narrow streets are crowded by restaurants, bars, galleries and all kinds of different people.

Located in Lisbon's Belém district, the magnificent Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and its church are considered Portugal premier work of Renaissance and Manueline architecture. The nearby Torre de Belém was built on the north bank of the River Tagus to defend Lisbon against the perils and dangers of opposing fleets. Further along the riverbank in Belém stands the Monument to the Discoveries, built in 1960.

The former EXPO site now called the Parque das Nações, is a first-choice attraction for most visitors to Lisbon. The park's highlight is the Lisbon Oceanarium, which comprises five tanks. Other attractions include the Knowledge Pavillion, the Vasco da Gama Tower and a journey on the Lisbon Cable Car. Parque da Nações is also a very nice place to have a drink or a meal over the river Tagus.
For a late (and we mean really late) drink with music and dancing you can follow a night route starting in one of the several bars in the DOCAS (docklands), go on to AVENIDA 24 de JULHO and stop at one of the several discos (e.g., Blues Café, Docks, Queens, Kapital, and Plateau) and end up (watching the sunrise) at LUX, where international DJ´s live up the trendy Lisbon night fans. Another possible route is walking around BAIRRO ALTO and visit all bars you can find.

The Lisbon Coast comprises two stretches of golden coastline easily reach from Lisbon. Lying north of the River Tagus and more easily accessible of the two is the Estoril Coast with its sandy beaches. Within a short drive you will reach Sintra region with its royal palaces and breathtaking views over the ocean and hills.

South of the Tagus, the lesser-known Costa Azul (Blue Coast) is a peaceful paradise of fishing villages an1d long sandy beaches. 1
Hotels, modern shopping centers, cultural activities and a whole lot more make Lisbon one of the best year-round destinations in Europe!
